St. Josemaría Escrivá was a Roman Catholic priest from Spain who founded Opus Dei, an organization of laypeople and priests dedicated to the teaching that everyone is called to holiness by God and that ordinary life can result in sanctity. His canonization came only 27 years after his death, one of the shortest waiting periods in Church history.

St, Josemaría Escrivá had a deep dovotion to Mother Mary and here is one of his famous quotes on calling on our Mother in times of danger. She is always ready to embrace us and intercede for us to her Son.

“So your strength is failing you? Why don’t you tell your mother about it? . . . Mother! Call her with a loud voice. She is listening to you; she sees you in danger, perhaps, and she—your holy mother Mary—offers you, along with the grace of her son, the refuge of her arms, the tenderness of her embrace . . . and you will find yourself with added strength for the new battle.” ~ St. Josemaria Escriva
