St. John Bosco, popularly known as Don Bosco was an Italian Roman Catholic priest of the Latin Church, educator and writer of the 19th century.

He dedicated his life to the betterment and education of street children, juvenile delinquents, and other disadvantaged youth. His teaching methods focused on love instead of punishment and placing his students in surroundings removed from the likelihood of committing sin.

A follower of the spirituality and philosophy of Saint Francis de Sales, St John Bosco dedicated his works to Saint Francis de Sales when he founded the Salesians of Don Bosco. He is the Patron Saint of Boys, Editors and the Youth.

Prayer –
St. John Bosco
Friend of the young,
Teacher in the ways of God,
Your dedication to empowering the needy inspires us still.
Help me to work for a better world,
where the young are given the chance to flourish,
where the poor’s dream for justice can come true,
and where God’s compassion is shown to be real.
Intercede for me as I bring my needs to you and to
Our heavenly Mother, the Help of Christians. Amen.
