St. Matilda was the daughter of a Count who became Queen of Germany in 919. She was known for her piety and considerable almsgiving. She spent her final years, devoted to building many churches, convents and monasteries. St Matilda is the patron saint of widows and parents of large families.

Prayer –
Lord, we come to you today asking your grace and mercy. Through the intercession of your beloved daughter, St. Matilda we ask that you hear and answer our prayer. May her example of steadfast faith and charity be an encouragement to us that we may lead a holy life. Amen.
