Marcellinus, a priest, and Peter, an exorcist, died in the year 304. They were arrested, imprisoned and beheaded in the forest so that the Christians would not have a chance to bury and venerate their bodies. Very little is  about Sts. Marcellinus and Peter, but there is no question that the early church venerated them. Their names are included in the first Eucharistic prayer.
