He\u00a0was unwilling to believe the accounts of the other Apostles who had seen the risen Lord, and\u00a0only believed when Jesus appeared a second time. He put his fingers through the wounds of Jesus to confirm the Resurrection. Having being convinced of the Resurrection, he made a public profession of the divinity of Jesus by saying &#8220;My Lord and My God.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>St. Thomas eventually reached India taking the Gospel there, preaching along the Malabar Coast. There is a large Christian population to this day in that region who call themselves &#8220;Christians of St. Thomas&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Prayer &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Almighty and ever living God, who strengthened your apostle Thomas with sure and certain faith in your Son&#8217;s resurrection: Grant us so perfectly and without doubt to believe in Jesus Christ, our Lord and our God, that our faith may never be found wanting in your sight; through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Amen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>St. Thomas was one of the twelve apostles and is the patron saint of architects.
