Reading 1 (Romans 1:1-7)<\/span><\/h4>\n

Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus,
\ncalled to be an Apostle and set apart for the Gospel of God,
\nwhich he promised previously through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,
\nthe Gospel about his Son, descended from David according to the flesh,
\nbut established as Son of God in power
\naccording to the Spirit of holiness
\nthrough resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.
\nThrough him we have received the grace of apostleship,
\nto bring about the obedience of faith,
\nfor the sake of his name, among all the Gentiles,
\namong whom are you also, who are called to belong to Jesus Christ;
\nto all the beloved of God in Rome, called to be holy.
\nGrace to you and peace from God our Father
\nand the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Gospel (Luke 11:29-32)<\/span><\/h4>\n

While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them,
\n“This generation is an evil generation;
\nit seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it,
\nexcept the sign of Jonah.
\nJust as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites,
\nso will the Son of Man be to this generation.
\nAt the judgment
\nthe queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation
\nand she will condemn them,
\nbecause she came from the ends of the earth
\nto hear the wisdom of Solomon,
\nand there is something greater than Solomon here.
\nAt the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation
\nand condemn it,
\nbecause at the preaching of Jonah they repented,
\nand there is something greater than Jonah here.”<\/p>\n
