Reading 1<\/strong>\u00a02 Tm 4:10-17<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Beloved:
\nDemas, enamored of the present world,
\ndeserted me and went to Thessalonica,
\nCrescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia.
\nLuke is the only one with me.
\nGet Mark and bring him with you,
\nfor he is helpful to me in the ministry.
\nI have sent Tychicus to Ephesus.
\nWhen you come, bring the cloak I left with Carpus in Troas,
\nthe papyrus rolls, and especially the parchments.<\/p>\n

Alexander the coppersmith did me a great deal of harm;
\nthe Lord will repay him according to his deeds.
\nYou too be on guard against him,
\nfor he has strongly resisted our preaching.<\/p>\n

At my first defense no one appeared on my behalf,
\nbut everyone deserted me.
\nMay it not be held against them!
\nBut the Lord stood by me and gave me strength,
\nso that through me the proclamation might be completed
\nand all the Gentiles might hear it.<\/p>\n

Gospel<\/strong>\u00a0Luke 10:1-9<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

The Lord Jesus appointed seventy-two disciples
\nwhom he sent ahead of him in pairs
\nto every town and place he intended to visit.
\nHe said to them,
\n“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest
\nto send out laborers for his harvest.
\nGo on your way;
\nbehold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves.
\nCarry no money bag, no sack, no sandals;
\nand greet no one along the way.
\nInto whatever house you enter,
\nfirst say, ‘Peace to this household.’
\nIf a peaceful person lives there,
\nyour peace will rest on him;
\nbut if not, it will return to you.
\nStay in the same house and eat and drink what is offered to you,
\nfor the laborer deserves payment.
\nDo not move about from one house to another.
\nWhatever town you enter and they welcome you,
\neat what is set before you,
\ncure the sick in it and say to them,
