Reading 1<\/strong>\u00a0Rom 4:13, 16-18<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Brothers and sisters:
\nIt was not through the law
\nthat the promise was made to Abraham and his descendants
\nthat he would inherit the world,
\nbut through the righteousness that comes from faith.
\nFor this reason, it depends on faith,
\nso that it may be a gift,
\nand the promise may be guaranteed to all his descendants,
\nnot to those who only adhere to the law
\nbut to those who follow the faith of Abraham,
\nwho is the father of all of us, as it is written,
\nI have made you father of many nations.<\/em>
\nHe is our father in the sight of God,
\nin whom he believed, who gives life to the dead
\nand calls into being what does not exist.
\nHe believed, hoping against hope,
\nthat he would become\u00a0the father of many nations<\/em>,
\naccording to what was said,\u00a0Thus shall your descendants be<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Gospel<\/strong>\u00a0Luke 12:8-12<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Jesus said to his disciples:
\n“I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before others
\nthe Son of Man will acknowledge before the angels of God.
\nBut whoever denies me before others
\nwill be denied before the angels of God.<\/p>\n

“Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit
\nwill not be forgiven.
\nWhen they take you before synagogues and before rulers and authorities,
\ndo not worry about how or what your defense will be
\nor about what you are to say.
