Reading 1<\/strong>\u00a0Rom 4:20-25<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Brothers and sisters:
\nAbraham did not doubt God’s promise in unbelief;
\nrather, he was empowered by faith and gave glory to God
\nand was fully convinced that what God had promised
\nhe was also able to do.
\nThat is why\u00a0it was credited to him as righteousness.<\/em>
\nBut it was not for him alone that it was written
\nthat\u00a0it was credited to him<\/em>;
\nit was also for us, to whom it will be credited,
\nwho believe in the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,
\nwho was handed over for our transgressions
\nand was raised for our justification.<\/p>\n

Gospel<\/strong>\u00a0Luke 12:13-21<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Someone in the crowd said to Jesus,
\n“Teacher, tell my brother to share the inheritance with me.” He replied to him,
\n“Friend, who appointed me as your judge and arbitrator?” Then he said to the crowd,
\n“Take care to guard against all greed, for though one may be rich,
\none’s life does not consist of possessions.”<\/p>\n

Then he told them a parable.
\n“There was a rich man whose land produced a bountiful harvest. He asked himself, ‘What shall I do,
\nfor I do not have space to store my harvest?’
\nAnd he said, ‘This is what I shall do:
\nI shall tear down my barns and build larger ones.
\nThere I shall store all my grain and other goods
\nand I shall say to myself, “Now as for you,
\nyou have so many good things stored up for many years,
\nrest, eat, drink, be merry!”‘
\nBut God said to him,
\n‘You fool, this night your life will be demanded of you; and the things you have prepared, to whom will they belong?’
\nThus will it be for the one who stores up treasure for himself
