Reading 1<\/strong>\u00a0Rom 6:19-23<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Brothers and sisters:
\nI am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your nature.
\nFor just as you presented the parts of your bodies as slaves to impurity
\nand to lawlessness for lawlessness,
\nso now present them as slaves to righteousness for sanctification.
\nFor when you were slaves of sin, you were free from righteousness.
\nBut what profit did you get then
\nfrom the things of which you are now ashamed?
\nFor the end of those things is death.
\nBut now that you have been freed from sin and have become slaves of God,
\nthe benefit that you have leads to sanctification,
\nand its end is eternal life.
\nFor the wages of sin is death,
\nbut the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.<\/p>\n

Gospel<\/strong>\u00a0Lk 12:49-53<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Jesus said to his disciples:
\n“I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing!
\nThere is a baptism with which I must be baptized,
\nand how great is my anguish until it is accomplished!
\nDo you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth?
\nNo, I tell you, but rather division.
\nFrom now on a household of five will be divided,
\nthree against two and two against three;
\na father will be divided against his son
\nand a son against his father,
\na mother against her daughter
\nand a daughter against her mother,
\na mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law
