Reading 1<\/strong>\u00a0Rom 7:18-25a<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Brothers and sisters:
\nI know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my flesh.
\nThe willing is ready at hand, but doing the good is not.
\nFor I do not do the good I want,
\nbut I do the evil I do not want.
\nNow if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it,
\nbut sin that dwells in me.
\nSo, then, I discover the principle
\nthat when I want to do right, evil is at hand.
\nFor I take delight in the law of God, in my inner self,
\nbut I see in my members another principle
\nat war with the law of my mind,
\ntaking me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.
\nMiserable one that I am!
\nWho will deliver me from this mortal body?
\nThanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.<\/p>\n

Gospel<\/strong>\u00a0Lk 12:54-59<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Jesus said to the crowds,
\n“When you see a cloud rising in the west you say immediately that it is going to rain\u2013and so it does;
\nand when you notice that the wind is blowing from the south
\nyou say that it is going to be hot\u2013and so it is.
\nYou hypocrites!
\nYou know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky;
\nwhy do you not know how to interpret the present time?<\/p>\n

“Why do you not judge for yourselves what is right? If you are to go with your opponent before a magistrate,
\nmake an effort to settle the matter on the way;
\notherwise your opponent will turn you over to the judge,
\nand the judge hand you over to the constable,
\nand the constable throw you into prison.
\nI say to you, you will not be released
