First Reading – ROM\u00a012<\/span><\/h4>\n

Brothers and sisters:
\nWe, though many, are one Body in Christ
\nand individually parts of one another.
\nSince we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us,
\nlet us exercise them:
\nif prophecy, in proportion to the faith;
\nif ministry, in ministering;
\nif one is a teacher, in teaching;
\nif one exhorts, in exhortation;
\nif one contributes, in generosity;
\nif one is over others, with diligence;
\nif one does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.<\/p>\n

Let love be sincere;
\nhate what is evil,
\nhold on to what is good;
\nlove one another with mutual affection;
\nanticipate one another in showing honor.
\nDo not grow slack in zeal,
\nbe fervent in spirit,
\nserve the Lord.
\nRejoice in hope,
\nendure in affliction,
\npersevere in prayer.
\nContribute to the needs of the holy ones,
\nexercise hospitality.
\nBless those who persecute you,
\nbless and do not curse them.
\nRejoice with those who rejoice,
\nweep with those who weep.
\nHave the same regard for one another;
\ndo not be haughty but associate with the lowly.<\/p>\n

Gospel – LK 14<\/span><\/h4>\n

One of those at table with Jesus said to him,
\n“Blessed is the one who will dine in the Kingdom of God.”
\nHe replied to him,
\n“A man gave a great dinner to which he invited many.
\nWhen the time for the dinner came,
\nhe dispatched his servant to say to those invited,
\n‘Come, everything is now ready.’
\nBut one by one, they all began to excuse themselves.
\nThe first said to him,
\n‘I have purchased a field and must go to examine it;
\nI ask you, consider me excused.’
\nAnd another said, ‘I have purchased five yoke of oxen
\nand am on my way to evaluate them;
\nI ask you, consider me excused.’
\nAnd another said, ‘I have just married a woman,
\nand therefore I cannot come.’
\nThe servant went and reported this to his master.
\nThen the master of the house in a rage commanded his servant,
\n‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town
\nand bring in here the poor and the crippled,
\nthe blind and the lame.’
\nThe servant reported, ‘Sir, your orders have been carried out
\nand still there is room.’
\nThe master then ordered the servant,
\n‘Go out to the highways and hedgerows
\nand make people come in that my home may be filled.
