First Reading – Rom 15<\/span><\/h4>\n

I myself am convinced about you, my brothers and sisters,
\nthat you yourselves are full of goodness,
\nfilled with all knowledge, and able to admonish one another.
\nBut I have written to you rather boldly in some respects to remind you,
\nbecause of the grace given me by God
\nto be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles
\nin performing the priestly service of the Gospel of God,
\nso that the offering up of the Gentiles may be acceptable,
\nsanctified by the Holy Spirit.
\nIn Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to boast in what pertains to God.
\nFor I will not dare to speak of anything
\nexcept what Christ has accomplished through me
\nto lead the Gentiles to obedience by word and deed,
\nby the power of signs and wonders,
\nby the power of the Spirit of God,
\nso that from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum
\nI have finished preaching the Gospel of Christ.
\nThus I aspire to proclaim the Gospel
\nnot where Christ has already been named,
\nso that I do not build on another’s foundation,
\nbut as it is written:

Gospel – LK 16<\/span><\/h4>\n

Jesus said to his disciples, “A rich man had a steward
\nwho was reported to him for squandering his property.
\nHe summoned him and said,
\n‘What is this I hear about you?
\nPrepare a full account of your stewardship,
\nbecause you can no longer be my steward.’
\nThe steward said to himself, ‘What shall I do,
\nnow that my master is taking the position of steward away from me?
\nI am not strong enough to dig and I am ashamed to beg.
\nI know what I shall do so that,
\nwhen I am removed from the stewardship,
\nthey may welcome me into their homes.’
\nHe called in his master’s debtors one by one.
\nTo the first he said, ‘How much do you owe my master?’
\nHe replied, ‘One hundred measures of olive oil.’
\nHe said to him, ‘Here is your promissory note.
\nSit down and quickly write one for fifty.’
\nThen to another he said, ‘And you, how much do you owe?’
\nHe replied, ‘One hundred measures of wheat.’
\nHe said to him, ‘Here is your promissory note;
\nwrite one for eighty.’
\nAnd the master commended that dishonest steward for acting prudently.
\nFor the children of this world
\nare more prudent in dealing with their own generation
