First Reading –\u00a0Wis<\/span><\/h4>\n

Love justice, you who judge the earth;
\nthink of the Lord in goodness,
\nand seek him in integrity of heart;
\nBecause he is found by those who test him not,
\nand he manifests himself to those who do not disbelieve him.
\nFor perverse counsels separate a man from God,
\nand his power, put to the proof, rebukes the foolhardy;
\nBecause into a soul that plots evil, wisdom enters not,
\nnor dwells she in a body under debt of sin.
\nFor the holy Spirit of discipline flees deceit
\nand withdraws from senseless counsels;
\nand when injustice occurs it is rebuked.
\nFor wisdom is a kindly spirit,
\nyet she acquits not the blasphemer of his guilty lips;
\nBecause God is the witness of his inmost self
\nand the sure observer of his heart
\nand the listener to his tongue.
\nFor the Spirit of the Lord fills the world,
\nis all-embracing, and knows what man says.<\/p>\n

Gospel – Luke 17<\/span><\/h4>\n

Jesus said to his disciples,
\n“Things that cause sin will inevitably occur,
\nbut woe to the one through whom they occur.
\nIt would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck
\nand he be thrown into the sea
\nthan for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.
\nBe on your guard!
\nIf your brother sins, rebuke him;
\nand if he repents, forgive him.
\nAnd if he wrongs you seven times in one day
\nand returns to you seven times saying, ‘I am sorry,’
\nyou should forgive him.”<\/p>\n

And the Apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
\nThe Lord replied, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
\nyou would say to this mulberry tree,
