First Reading –\u00a0Wisdom<\/span><\/h4>\n

Hear, O kings, and understand;
\nlearn, you magistrates of the earth’s expanse!
\nHearken, you who are in power over the multitude
\nand lord it over throngs of peoples!
\nBecause authority was given you by the Lord
\nand sovereignty by the Most High,
\nwho shall probe your works and scrutinize your counsels.
\nBecause, though you were ministers of his kingdom, you judged not rightly,
\nand did not keep the law,
\nnor walk according to the will of God,
\nTerribly and swiftly shall he come against you,
\nbecause judgment is stern for the exalted\u2013
\nFor the lowly may be pardoned out of mercy
\nbut the mighty shall be mightily put to the test.
\nFor the Lord of all shows no partiality,
\nnor does he fear greatness,
\nBecause he himself made the great as well as the small,
\nand he provides for all alike;
\nbut for those in power a rigorous scrutiny impends.
\nTo you, therefore, O princes, are my words addressed
\nthat you may learn wisdom and that you may not sin.
\nFor those who keep the holy precepts hallowed shall be found holy,
\nand those learned in them will have ready a response.
\nDesire therefore my words;
\nlong for them and you shall be instructed.<\/p>\n

Gospel – Luke 17<\/span><\/h4>\n

As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem,
\nhe traveled through Samaria and Galilee.
\nAs he was entering a village, ten lepers met him.
\nThey stood at a distance from him and raised their voice, saying,
\n“Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!”
\nAnd when he saw them, he said,
\n“Go show yourselves to the priests.”
\nAs they were going they were cleansed.
\nAnd one of them, realizing he had been healed,
\nreturned, glorifying God in a loud voice;
\nand he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him.
\nHe was a Samaritan.
\nJesus said in reply,
\n“Ten were cleansed, were they not?
\nWhere are the other nine?
\nHas none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?”
\nThen he said to him, “Stand up and go;
