First Reading –\u00a01 John 3<\/span><\/h4>\n

Beloved:
\nThis is the message you have heard from the beginning:
\nwe should love one another,
\nunlike Cain who belonged to the Evil One
\nand slaughtered his brother.
\nWhy did he slaughter him?
\nBecause his own works were evil,
\nand those of his brother righteous.
\nDo not be amazed, then, brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.
\nWe know that we have passed from death to life
\nbecause we love our brothers.
\nWhoever does not love remains in death.
\nEveryone who hates his brother is a murderer,
\nand you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.
\nThe way we came to know love
\nwas that he laid down his life for us;
\nso we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
\nIf someone who has worldly means
\nsees a brother in need and refuses him compassion,
\nhow can the love of God remain in him?
\nChildren, let us love not in word or speech
\nbut in deed and truth.<\/p>\n

Now this is how we shall know that we belong to the truth
\nand reassure our hearts before him
\nin whatever our hearts condemn,
\nfor God is greater than our hearts and knows everything.
\nBeloved, if our hearts do not condemn us,
\nwe have confidence in God.<\/p>\n

Gospel –\u00a0John 1<\/span><\/h4>\n

Jesus decided to go to Galilee, and he found Philip.
\nAnd Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
\nNow Philip was from Bethsaida, the town of Andrew and Peter.
\nPhilip found Nathanael and told him,
\n“We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law,
\nand also the prophets, Jesus, son of Joseph, from Nazareth.”
\nBut Nathanael said to him,
\n“Can anything good come from Nazareth?”
\nPhilip said to him, “Come and see.”
\nJesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him,
\n“Here is a true child of Israel.
\nThere is no duplicity in him.”
\nNathanael said to him, “How do you know me?”
\nJesus answered and said to him,
\n“Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.”
\nNathanael answered him,
\n“Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.”
\nJesus answered and said to him,
\n“Do you believe
\nbecause I told you that I saw you under the fig tree?
\nYou will see greater things than this.”
\nAnd he said to him, “Amen, amen, I say to you,
\nyou will see the sky opened and the angels of God
\nascending and descending on the Son of Man.”<\/p>\n
