First Reading –\u00a0Acts 22<\/span><\/h4>\n

Paul addressed the people in these words:
\n“I am a Jew, born in Tarsus in Cilicia,
\nbut brought up in this city.
\nAt the feet of Gamaliel I was educated strictly in our ancestral law
\nand was zealous for God, just as all of you are today.
\nI persecuted this Way to death,
\nbinding both men and women and delivering them to prison.
\nEven the high priest and the whole council of elders
\ncan testify on my behalf.
\nFor from them I even received letters to the brothers
\nand set out for Damascus to bring back to Jerusalem
\nin chains for punishment those there as well.<\/p>\n

“On that journey as I drew near to Damascus,
\nabout noon a great light from the sky suddenly shone around me.
\nI fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me,
\n‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
\nI replied, ‘Who are you, sir?’
\nAnd he said to me,
\n‘I am Jesus the Nazorean whom you are persecuting.’
\nMy companions saw the light
\nbut did not hear the voice of the one who spoke to me.
\nI asked, ‘What shall I do, sir?’
\nThe Lord answered me, ‘Get up and go into Damascus,
\nand there you will be told about everything
\nappointed for you to do.’
\nSince I could see nothing because of the brightness of that light,
\nI was led by hand by my companions and entered Damascus.<\/p>\n

“A certain Ananias, a devout observer of the law,
\nand highly spoken of by all the Jews who lived there,
\ncame to me and stood there and said,
\n‘Saul, my brother, regain your sight.’
\nAnd at that very moment I regained my sight and saw him.
\nThen he said,
\n‘The God of our ancestors designated you to know his will,
\nto see the Righteous One, and to hear the sound of his voice;
\nfor you will be his witness before all
\nto what you have seen and heard.
\nNow, why delay?
\nGet up and have yourself baptized and your sins washed away,
\ncalling upon his name.'”<\/p>\n

Gospel –\u00a0Mark 16<\/span><\/h4>\n

Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them:
\n“Go into the whole world
\nand proclaim the Gospel to every creature.
\nWhoever believes and is baptized will be saved;
\nwhoever does not believe will be condemned.
\nThese signs will accompany those who believe:
\nin my name they will drive out demons,
\nthey will speak new languages.
\nThey will pick up serpents with their hands,
\nand if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them.
\nThey will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”<\/p>\n
