{"id":4221,"date":"2018-02-01T01:10:01","date_gmt":"2018-02-01T06:10:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sharecatholic.com\/blog\/?p=4221"},"modified":"2018-01-26T17:11:36","modified_gmt":"2018-01-26T22:11:36","slug":"mass-readings-february-1st-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sharecatholic.com\/blog\/mass-readings-february-1st-2018","title":{"rendered":"Mass Readings for February 1st, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #993300;\">First Reading &#8211;\u00a01\u00a0Kgs 2<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #333333;\">When the time of David&#8217;s death drew near,<br \/>\nhe gave these instructions to his son Solomon:<br \/>\n&#8220;I am going the way of all flesh.<br \/>\nTake courage and be a man.<br \/>\nKeep the mandate of the LORD, your God, following his ways<br \/>\nand observing his statutes, commands, ordinances, and decrees<br \/>\nas they are written in the law of Moses,<br \/>\nthat you may succeed in whatever you do,<br \/>\nwherever you turn, and the LORD may fulfill<br \/>\nthe promise he made on my behalf when he said,<br \/>\n&#8216;If your sons so conduct themselves<br \/>\nthat they remain faithful to me with their whole heart<br \/>\nand with their whole soul,<br \/>\nyou shall always have someone of your line<br \/>\non the throne of Israel.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>David rested with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David.<br \/>\nThe length of David&#8217;s reign over Israel was forty years:<br \/>\nhe reigned seven years in Hebron<br \/>\nand thirty-three years in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p>Solomon was seated on the throne of his father David,<br \/>\nwith his sovereignty firmly established.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #993300;\"><span>Gospel &#8211;\u00a0Mark 6<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 12.0pt; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;\">Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two<br \/>\nand gave them authority over unclean spirits.<br \/>\nHe instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick<br \/>\n\u2013no food, no sack, no money in their belts.<br \/>\nThey were, however, to wear sandals but not a second tunic.<br \/>\nHe said to them,<br \/>\n&#8220;Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave from there.<br \/>\nWhatever place does not welcome you or listen to you,<br \/>\nleave there and shake the dust off your feet<br \/>\nin testimony against them.&#8221;<br \/>\nSo they went off and preached repentance.<br \/>\nThe Twelve drove out many demons,<br \/>\nand they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #993300;\">This is the\u00a0Word of the Lord.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First Reading &#8211;\u00a01\u00a0Kgs 2 When the time of David&#8217;s death drew near, he gave these instructions to his son Solomon: &#8220;I am going the way of all flesh.
