{"id":4277,"date":"2018-02-12T01:00:22","date_gmt":"2018-02-12T06:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sharecatholic.com\/blog\/?p=4277"},"modified":"2018-02-09T16:24:56","modified_gmt":"2018-02-09T21:24:56","slug":"mass-readings-february-12th-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sharecatholic.com\/blog\/mass-readings-february-12th-2018","title":{"rendered":"Mass Readings for February 12th, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #993300;\">First Reading &#8211; James 1<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;\">James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,<br \/>\nto the twelve tribes in the dispersion, greetings.<\/p>\n<p>Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters,<br \/>\nwhen you encounter various trials,<br \/>\nfor you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.<br \/>\nAnd let perseverance be perfect,<br \/>\nso that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.<br \/>\nBut if any of you lacks wisdom,<br \/>\nhe should ask God who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly,<br \/>\nand he will be given it.<br \/>\nBut he should ask in faith, not doubting,<br \/>\nfor the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea<br \/>\nthat is driven and tossed about by the wind.<br \/>\nFor that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord,<br \/>\nsince he is a man of two minds, unstable in all his ways.<\/p>\n<p>The brother in lowly circumstances<br \/>\nshould take pride in high standing,<br \/>\nand the rich one in his lowliness,<br \/>\nfor he will pass away &#8220;like the flower of the field.&#8221;<br \/>\nFor the sun comes up with its scorching heat and dries up the grass,<br \/>\nits flower droops, and the beauty of its appearance vanishes.<br \/>\nSo will the rich person fade away in the midst of his pursuits.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #993300;\">Gospel &#8211; Mark 8<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;\">The Pharisees came forward and began to argue with Jesus,<br \/>\nseeking from him a sign from heaven to test him.<br \/>\nHe sighed from the depth of his spirit and said,<br \/>\n&#8220;Why does this generation seek a sign?<br \/>\nAmen, I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.&#8221;<br \/>\nThen he left them, got into the boat again,<br \/>\nand went off to the other shore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #993300;\">This is the\u00a0Word of the Lord.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First Reading &#8211; James 1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes in the dispersion, greetings.
