First Reading –\u00a0Dt 26<\/span><\/h4>\n

Moses spoke to the people, saying:
\n“This day the LORD, your God,
\ncommands you to observe these statutes and decrees.
\nBe careful, then,
\nto observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.
\nToday you are making this agreement with the LORD:
\nhe is to be your God and you are to walk in his ways
\nand observe his statutes, commandments and decrees,
\nand to hearken to his voice.
\nAnd today the LORD is making this agreement with you:
\nyou are to be a people peculiarly his own, as he promised you;
\nand provided you keep all his commandments,
\nhe will then raise you high in praise and renown and glory
\nabove all other nations he has made,
\nand you will be a people sacred to the LORD, your God,
\nas he promised.”<\/p>\n

Gospel -Mt 5<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus said to his disciples:
\n“You have heard that it was said,
\nYou shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.<\/em>
\nBut I say to you, love your enemies,
\nand pray for those who persecute you,
\nthat you may be children of your heavenly Father,
\nfor he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good,
\nand causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.
\nFor if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have?
\nDo not the tax collectors do the same?
\nAnd if you greet your brothers and sisters only,
\nwhat is unusual about that?
\nDo not the pagans do the same?
\nSo be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.”<\/p>\n
