St Clare was born in 1194 to a noble and rich family. At the age of 15, she was deeply moved by the preaching of St Francis and wanted to imitate him and serve Jesus.

She ran away from home, when she was 18 and wen to a little chapel outside of Assisi. St. Francis cut her hair and gave her a rough habit to wear. Her parents came to take her away but she clung to the altar of the church and would not leave.

Some days later, her sister Agnes joined her and so did other women. They lived a live of poverty, austerity and complete seclusion from the rest of the world.

St Clare is the Foundress an order of nuns called the “Poor Clares”. St Francis was her spiritual guide and good friend.

Powerful Prayer to St. Clare of Assisi –

O glorious Saint Clare!
God has given you the power of working miracles continually, and the favor of answering the prayers of those who invoke your assistance in misfortune, anxiety, and distress; we beseech you, obtain for us from Jesus, through Mary, His Blessed Mother, what we beg of you so fervently and hopefully, if it be for the greater honor and glory of God and for the good of our souls.

Saint Clare Pray For Us

Amen.
