ST. Luke, the author of the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles, was born in Syria and trained as a physician.

He accompanied St. Paul on his journeys to preach the Gospel travelling to Rome and converting pagans to Christianity. The letter of St Paul to the Colossians refers to St. Luke as a doctor, thus he is considered to be a physician.

He is the patron saint of artists, physicians and surgeons.

Prayer –

Saint Luke, in your gospel, you show us the beauty of holiness. Help us to reflect the image of Christ in the way we live our lives. Saint Luke, pray for us!
